Our Services
Our church gatherings are the focal point of our worship together. You are welcome to worship with us or contact us about the other special services we provide.

At St Matthew’s Anglican Church Windsor, we gather regularly to worship God, hear from the Bible, pray and share together as a church family. Our Sunday Service is held every Sunday at 9:00am, and our Mid Week Service is held at 10:00am on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Throughout the year, we also offer special services for significant moments in life, including Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals. Whether you are a regular churchgoer, returning to church, or simply curious about Christianity, you are warmly invited to join us.

Sunday Service
Every Sunday at 9am (duration approx 1hr)

Our Sunday service is a time for us to come together as a church family to worship God, learn from his Word and encourage one another. We spend time studying and hearing from the Bible, sharing in prayer, and singing a mixture of traditional hymns and more contemporary songs. We also share Holy Communion together, remembering Jesus and what he has done for us. After the service, everyone is invited to stay for morning tea, providing a relaxed opportunity to meet others, enjoy a cuppa and continue the conversation.

Mid-Week Holy Communion
1st and 3rd Wednesday of the Month at 10am

On the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10:00am, we hold a shorter, traditional Holy Communion service. These services provide a quieter and more intimate opportunity to worship, hear from God’s Word, pray and share in Communion. They are particularly suited to those who are older, weary, or find it difficult to attend our Sunday service, but everyone is warmly welcome. It is a wonderful opportunity to pause during the week, spend time with God and enjoy fellowship with others.

Kids Church
Sunday 9am (during school term)

Kids Church is a fun and engaging part of our 9:00am Sunday service, providing an opportunity for children to learn about the Bible, grow in their faith and enjoy spending time together in a safe and welcoming environment.

Children begin the morning by joining their families in the church for the first 10–15 minutes of the service. They then head across to the St Matthews Community Hall, where our Kids Church leaders lead them in an age-appropriate program of Bible teaching, activities, games, crafts and prayer. At the conclusion of the Sunday service, parents and carers can head over to the hall to collect their children.

We want every child to feel welcome, included and cared for at St Matthews. All leaders involved in our Children’s and Youth Ministry are Safe Ministry trained and hold the appropriate Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.

Whether your family regularly attends St Matthews or you are visiting for the first time, we would love to welcome your children to Kids Church.

Baptism

At St Matthews we love speaking with people about Jesus. We are glad to discuss baptism and what it means.

Baptism whether for children or adults is a wonderful moment when a person declares their faith in Jesus Christ. Parents and godparents do that on behalf of children. Adults speak for themselves.

We normally baptise people during one of our normal church services.

Preparation is required before the baptism. We will meet with both parents at least twice.

We always encourage people to regularly come to church and to be active in the life of St Matthews.

We understand some families have a long history with St Matthews. We are happy to discuss the possibility of baptism but may require you to do preparation with your local Anglican church.

Weddings
Marriage is one of the most significant decisions we make in life, and a wedding is one of the most special occasions we celebrate. If you have become engaged and are planning a wedding then congratulations on your engagement. We wish you every joy and happiness as you prepare for and enter into marriage.

From the outset we want to say we are very pleased you are considering being married at St Matthew's. We love weddings! However, we also want to say, we do not just do a church wedding. Rather, we want to help people establish a Christian marriage

Some people want to get married in a church because that is the romantic thing to do, or because it is their parents’ wish. That is okay, but we hope you are coming to us for more than just that. We hope you want your marriage to be in a Christian church, using a Christian service because you want your marriage to be based upon Christian values and beliefs.

We believe God instituted marriage for His purposes and for our good. It is a great gift of God to men and women and we hope that you will come to experience how good it can be. It is our desire to be as helpful as possible and to ensure your wedding day is both a meaningful and happy occasion.

So regardless of whether you are a regular church member or not, as you prepare to get married at St Matthew's, we will spend some time with you, talking about marriage, and what being a Christian means, because ultimately we want you to have the best marriage possible.

Funeral Services

It is one of the privileges of Christian ministry to show care to people in some of the very difficult moments in life. We want our hope in Jesus Christ to be a considerable comfort to bereaved families.

We are able to work with your family and with funeral directors to show the hope and love and care which can be found in Jesus Christ.

It is helpful if you speak to us quite quickly to establish that St Matthews or our ministers are available at a suitable time to you.

Please feel free to contact us at your convenience to make any arrangements. The Minister can be contacted through the church office: (02) 4577 3193 or email: enquiries@windsoranglican.asn.au
